Is a field office necessary and if so, will the government allow the contractor to use the base power and water systems for the office and what charges will need to be budgeted for?
RESPONSE: This section does not indicate requirements for field office and telephone. This section indicates what will be discussed during the preconstruction conference; part of the discussion items mentioned are the Contractor’s field office address and telephone number. Protection board in this context is meant as a roof cover board needed for walkways leading from roof hatch to roof top HVAC equipment. Final method of placement, anchoring and compatibility will be determined by manufacturer’s representative.

RESPONSE: The base bid is composed of two roof type; a metal roof and modified bitumen roof. For bid purposes assume the modified bitumen roof is composed of a corrugated metal roof deck, at least 2 layers of 1.5” to 2” rigid insulation, at least ½” re-roof board, and a modified bitumen roofing system.
