ATTACHMENT 2 / SOLICITATION: 70Z04418R18002300
Specification for Second Generation Automatic Identification System (AIS-2)
SCOPE
This specification describes the requirements for the second generation of Automatic Identification System (AIS-2) transponder and associated peripherals as the replacement of the L3 Protec-M EAIS transponder deployed in the Coast Guard on nearly every cutter and boat class. The second generation AIS transponder and associated peripherals is herein referred to as
AIS-2.
This specification applies to the procurement of equipment only, and DOES NOT include installation. Based upon the current USCG vessel inventory of 1774 boats and 282 cutters, the government anticipates purchase of vessel class-specific kits and spare parts to equip all USCG vessels with AIS-2 over the next five (5) years. The detailed breakdown of vessel class-specific kits is provided in the Price Schedule spreadsheet.
