About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details a requirement for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) to procure form, fit, and function replacement Light Emitting Diode (LED) indicators for MH-65 helicopter instrument panels. The replacement indicators must be Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) compatible, designed to replace obsolete incandescent indicators, and support electrical panel operation for the next 20 years. Specific requirements include manufacturing LED indicator assemblies that fit current MH-65E panel cut-outs, interface with existing wiring, and comply with military standards including MIL-STD-3009 for NVIS compatibility.

The SOW outlines detailed technical specifications, including electrical power requirements (13-28 VDC), a per-capsule current draw not exceeding 50 MA, and the need for a two-component design with independent switch body housing and LED indicator capsule. First article testing will be conducted at the Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) to verify physical fit and electrical conformance, with full production contingent upon USCG approval. The procurement is a Total Small Business Set-Aside, with all parts requiring clear traceability to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines to ensure aircrew safety.
