About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers file for a Pool Maintenance Service solicitation (Solicitation Number: 70Z028-25-Q-ASCWPOOLMAIN) issued by the U.S. Coast Guard. The solicitation covers year-round pool maintenance for an aircrew training facility, with a consistent maintenance schedule of Monday/Wednesday/Friday service. Chemical storage and management are detailed, including four 55-gallon chlorine barrels and two to four 33-gallon sulfuric acid barrels stored in a black roll-up shed, along with automatic chemical feeders and filtration systems. The current incumbent is Sanford Federal Inc. Proposal submission requires emailing the completed RFQ and SF-30 documents to Arlett.Maj@uscg.mil by the submission deadline. Small preventative maintenance parts are included in the contract's "regular inspection," while larger repairs will require additional price quotes submitted to the Coast Guard Contacting Officer Representative.

Questions and Answers
Pool Maintenance Service
70Z028-25-Q-ASCWPOOLMAIN
1. Is there any change to the pool schedule throughout the year or does it hold the same schedule year-round?
a. Our aircrew training facility is operational year-round. The pool service will remain consistent with the defined scope of work all year-round.
2. Going off of questions number one; would the M/W/F maintenance service schedule hold year-round? Or would there be any change to that during the Winter? If so, what does that look like?
a. The pool service will remain consistent with the defined scope of work all year-round (M/W/F).
3. What is the primary sanitation source? I see a 300-29x chlorine tower in the pictures but that must be a backup sanitation. I noticed Stenner pumps signifying possible sodium hypochlorite and acid. If those are the main sources, what are the sizes of their bulk containers?
a. The black roll-up shed houses the pool's chemical and filtration systems. We store four 55-gallon barrels of chlorine and two to four 33-gallon barrels of sulfuric acid inside. The shed also contains two automatic feeders (one for chlorine, one for acid), a sand filter, a priming pump (backup), and a self-priming recirculating pump (primary).
4. Do you have records of typical monthly and annual usage of chemicals that you can share?
a. We currently order chemicals on an as-needed basis. I will provide an answer as soon as possible.
5. Is there a format/structure/length that must be adhered to for the proposal submission?
a. Email completed RFQ document and SF-30 document (attached in SAM solicitation) to Contracting Specialist: Arlett.Maj@uscg.mil by submission deadline
6. Is there any preventative maintenance parts that are to be included in the contract price outside of balancing chemicals and general tools for work? (ex. Tubing, injectors, items associated with the chemical feeders.)
a. For routine servicing, small, preventative maintenance parts (e.g., tubing, O-rings, or minor chemical feeder parts) shall be included as part of the "regular inspection" in the contract. However, larger or more significant repairs or part replacements typically fall outside this scope. The Contractor will inform the
Coast Guard Contracting Officer Representative (COR) of any discrepancy and submit a price quote for either repairing or replacing the item in question.
