The IDEA BAA
What is the IDEA BAA?
ITF seeks to identify Innovative Demonstrations for Enterprise Advancement, or IDEAs, that can be demonstrated in a live airport environment. Solution providers are encouraged to submit people, process, and technology solutions that can enhance security effectiveness, address TSA capability gaps, improve screening efficiency, and enhance the passenger experience. Solutions should be sufficiently mature that they can be demonstrated by TSA in a live airport environment within six months.
What types of IDEAs are we looking for?
ITF consulted with stakeholders across TSA to establish a series of problem statements for this BAA. Vendors are asked to identify the one (1) problem statement most applicable for their solution.
Alarm Resolution Identity Verification
Emerging Threat Detection Automated Security Design
Passenger Communications Officer Tools
Passenger Load Distribution Vendor-Identified Problem
What is the submission process?
Solution providers should submit a whitepaper to ITF in order to be considered under this BAA.

TSA has not specified a specific number of solutions to be selected from this BAA or any target selection numbers for each problem submission.
