About this file
This spreadsheet details vault toilet pumping and port-a-potty rental service requirements for Porkies (Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park) and Lake Gogebic State Park in Michigan. The scope of work encompasses pumping services for approximately 40 vault toilets distributed across multiple locations, with varying frequencies based on seasonal use patterns. At Porkies, the Ranger Station, parking lots, staff garage, and campground facilities require monthly pumping, while Union Bay Campground requires twice-per-season service (May through November), and outpost campgrounds including Union River, Lost Creek, White Pine Extension, and Group Use Campsite require once-per-season pumping. Additional facilities such as cabins, yurts, scenic sites, ticket booths, trailheads, and boat launches each require once-per-season service. Lake Gogebic State Park includes boat launch facilities and 11 backcountry area sites (BAS) throughout Gogebic, Ontonagon, and surrounding counties, each requiring twice-per-season pumping during the May through November operational period. All pumping services must occur between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. (Eastern or Central Time, depending on location), with preference for weekday service excluding holidays. Cabin and yurt facilities require pumping during August and September when ground conditions permit truck access.
Port-a-potty rental services are also required for large projects and emergencies, with a minimum of one ADA-compliant unit needed for National Guard projects. Ski hill facilities require three port-a-potty units for winter use, including one unit for the middle parking lot to accommodate winter camping and two units with blue liquid to be transported to the ski hill summit for staff use. The contract notes that pumping frequency estimates may vary based on actual park visitor usage, and additional vault locations may be added during the contract term. GPS coordinates are provided for all toilet locations to facilitate service planning and execution.
