About this file
This file is a Texas House Bill 89 Verification Form related to a City of Corinth utility line locating services contract opportunity in Texas. The form implements legislation effective September 1, 2017, that amends the Texas Government Code by requiring governmental entities to include a written verification in all contracts for goods or services. The verification must confirm that the contracting company does not boycott Israel and will not do so during the contract term. The City of Corinth's solicitation for annual utility line locating services, which requires the successful bidder to provide all necessary equipment, materials, supplies, labor, permits, insurance, and licenses, is subject to this verification requirement.
An authorized company official must certify under oath that the company does not currently boycott Israel, will not boycott Israel during the contract term, and is not listed on the State of Texas Comptroller's Companies that Boycott Israel List maintained at https://comptroller.texas.gov/purchasing/publications/divestment.php. The definition of "boycott Israel" under Section 2270.001 of the Texas Government Code excludes actions taken for ordinary business purposes and specifically addresses refusal to deal with, termination of business activities with, or actions intended to penalize, inflict economic harm on, or limit commercial relations with Israel, Israeli persons or entities, or those doing business in Israeli-controlled territories. All bidders responding to the City of Corinth's utility line locating services contract must complete and submit this certification as a condition of contract eligibility.
