About this file

This document is a Heat Protection Safety Requirement specification for a project focused on worker safety during adverse weather conditions. The requirement mandates that the project Safety Plan include comprehensive guidance for protecting workers from extreme heat, cold, and other adverse weather conditions. Specifically, when temperatures reach or exceed 90 degrees (by temperature or heat index), the Prime Contractor must implement a project-specific Heat Awareness Plan that includes provisions for worker acclimatization, access to water, rest periods, and shade.

Vendors are required to acknowledge and agree to these safety requirements by signing the Bid Acknowledgement at the time of submission. The document emphasizes the Prime Contractor's responsibility to provide necessary accommodations during extended periods of adverse weather, ensuring worker safety throughout the execution of their work. By signing, the vendor commits to following these heat protection safety guidelines, which are designed to prevent heat-related and cold-related illnesses among workers.
