About this file

This document is a Heat Protection Safety Requirement document outlining workplace safety guidelines for weather-related conditions. The document mandates that all project Safety Plans must include comprehensive provisions for protecting workers from heat-related and cold-related illnesses during their work, with specific requirements for when temperatures reach over 90 degrees (temperature or heat index). The Prime Contractor is required to provide necessary accommodations during extended periods of adverse weather conditions, which may include implementing a project-specific Heat Awareness Plan with provisions for worker acclimatization, water access, rest periods, and shade.

Vendors are required to acknowledge and agree to these heat protection safety requirements by signing the Bid Acknowledgement at the time of submission. The document emphasizes the importance of worker safety across all weather conditions and places the responsibility on the Prime Contractor to develop and implement appropriate protective measures. By signing the bid document, vendors commit to following these safety guidelines throughout the project's duration, ensuring worker health and well-being in potentially challenging environmental conditions.
