About this file
This is a Local Preference Consideration attachment document for the City of Amarillo, Texas, related to document shredding services procurement. The document establishes the framework through which the City will evaluate and apply local business preferences in the competitive bidding process. The attachment outlines the criteria and methodology for assessing bidder eligibility for local preference consideration, allowing qualified local businesses to receive favorable evaluation treatment during the selection process. Specific details regarding response deadlines, bid submission dates, site visits, and the contract term are referenced within the broader procurement documents but are not detailed exclusively in this attachment.
The local preference consideration mechanism provides scoring or evaluation advantages to businesses meeting the City's defined local preference criteria, which typically includes factors such as business location, local employment, and community ties within the Amarillo jurisdiction. This consideration applies to the overall bid evaluation and selection process but does not supersede other procurement requirements or mandatory qualifications. The specific point adjustments, threshold requirements, or other numerical considerations for local preference scoring are determined according to the City of Amarillo's procurement policies and the terms established in the complete solicitation package, which includes this attachment along with the Scope of Work and other supporting documents.
