About this file
This is an Addendum and Acknowledgement Document for Request for Quotation 6-S176-Q-00236-00 issued by Argonne National Laboratory on April 17, 2026. The addendum provides clarifications to the solicitation for the procurement of one 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid (AWD) vehicle. Key clarifications include: vehicles must be new with less than 100 miles at time of review, though additional transport miles from the dealer to Argonne are acceptable; the 200-mile geographic range from Lemont, IL 60439 is an estimate for the contracting team's review travel distance, and shipping or towing is acceptable if the vehicle meets all requirements as the lowest price, technically acceptable offer; in-person vehicle review is preferred to avoid potential issues, though the contracting team expects sufficient vehicles will be available within the stated range; and test drive procedures involve reviewing vehicle specifications, confirming them against the VIN, and verifying these details before paperwork is finalized. All offerors must sign and return the addendum acknowledgement. The proposal submission deadline remains EOD April 20, 2026, as stated in the original solicitation.

04/17/2026 This addendum is being issued to modify the subject REQUEST FOR FORMDROPDOWN 6-S176-Q-00236-00 as follows:
Clarifications as below:
1. Can the vehicle have a prior owner?
UChicago Argonne, LLC is seeking a direct dealer transaction with a Honda dealership. We are looking for a vehicle listed as new, and it should have less than 100 miles at time of review, though after review additional transport miles from the dealer to Argonne would be acceptable.
2. For the 200 mile limit, what exactly is that tied to, and if a car is outside that range, can we ship or tow it in?
This 200 mile range is an estimate based on the amount of driving to a car’s location for review prior to selection. The team is willing to drive this estimated distance for a review. This also provides a more consistent delivery estimate from dealer to dealer. Shipping or towing is acceptable, but would need to be available for review with no guarantee of award and while meeting our requirements as the lowest price, technically acceptable offer.
3. If we find a car outside that area, could we handle inspection virtually or through a third party, or does it have to be in person before award?
We would prefer to have the ability to review the vehicle in person to avoid possible issues. Additionally- for this vehicle, we expect that there will be sufficient vehicles within this range.
4. Can you explain how the test drive works, like when it’s actually required and if we can set one up if needed?
The expectation would be to review the vehicle, confirm its specs, and verify that with the VIN that is provided before the paperwork is all signed committing to the VIN.
