About this file
This is Addendum No. 2 to Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 6-B143-P-00148-00 for the ALCF Artemis Compute Cluster, issued by Argonne National Laboratory on June 3, 2026. The addendum clarifies and updates key specifications previously provided in Addendum No. 1. The primary changes address installation requirements and component handling procedures for the proposed compute cluster solution.
The addendum modifies the rack installation requirement from five (5) existing HPE P9K58A racks to four (4) racks in Building 240 Data Center, each equipped with four (4) HPE R4N79A Power Distribution Units (PDUs). Each PDU provides twenty-four (24) IEC 60320/C13 outlets at 12A @208V L-L (15A Peak) and twelve (12) C-series outlets at 16A @208V L-L (20A Peak). Additionally, the addendum clarifies the spare components policy, specifying that non-volatile storage components (SSDs, HDDs, SDCards, etc.) may not be shipped back to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), while other non-storage components may be shipped back and their handling terms may be negotiated as part of the contract award. Offerors are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum by returning a signed copy to the Procurement Specialist at atkinson@anl.gov.
