About this file
This Statement of Work details requirements for hauling and shaft seal replacement on two Maritime Administration (MARAD) vessels: PG-616 BOOM and PG-615 DYNAMO. The core services involve hauling out both vessels and renewing their starboard shaft mechanical seals with complete Duramax Seal Kits or equivalent.
The work must be performed in the San Francisco Bay area (including Sacramento and Stockton) as the vessels are not deep-seaworthy. Both vessels are 56-foot Fleet Utility Crafts built in 1986 and re-engined in 2015, equipped with twin Cummins QSL9 Marine Diesels. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, and equipment, comply with regulatory requirements, and maintain gas-free certifications. The SOW includes provisions for supplemental work with 25 hours of estimated supplemental labor and $4,000 in supplemental materials/subcontractor requirements. All supplemental costs over $200 require documentation, and materials/subcontractor costs must be passed through without markup. The contractor is responsible for vessel movements within their facility, and all removed equipment remains government property.
