Questions Answers

1 If the log ends up beyond the 30’ mark away from the roads edge

(I would assume this would be measured from the curbs edge) does it still need to be removed? Portions of the project are very steep and when felling the designated trees the logs will slide down the hill and could be 50’ or more from where the tree originally stood.

Bid the project assuming the designated trees within 30 feet of the roadway edge of the pavement must be removed, as outlined in the plans, specifications and bid schedule. In the event where tree removal is impractical in the opinion of the CO, the contractor will be directed to leave the tree onsite with limbs lopped and scattered or chipped and paid under the applicable pay item.

In Schedule A, Option X and Option Y, trees within 30 foot of the roadway edge of the pavement marked for fell and removed. Once those trees are fell, what is the contractor suppose to do with the debris listed to be removed?

Removals/removal debris are to be disposed of by hauling from

Park, chipping and blowing chips back on-site, or hauling chips out of

Park.

In order for the material to stay within the State [National] Park systems, will there be a disposal site within the State [National]

Park

No disposal site in the National Park. Material to be hauled out of Park, chipped and chips blown back on-site, or chips hauled out of Park.

The trees marked to be fell and removed 30 foot from the roadway, what will be the clean up specifications of the fallen tree?

SCR Section 202.07 identifies the cleanup requirement: ”Down trees outside of 30 feet from the pavement edge to be left onsite with limbs lopped and scattered or chipped.
