Questions and Answers:

1. Sheet M501, detail 2, depicts domestic cold water going to the humidifier. Is the domestic cold water system to be replaced in its entirety or just a disconnect & reconnect?

Answer: Disconnect and reconnect. Install new ball valve for each unit.

2. Sheet M501, detail 2, depicts condensate drain for the humidifier. Is the condensate system for the humidifier to be replaced in its entirety or just a disconnect & reconnect?

Answer: All condensate/ drain piping in the trench will be replaced in its entirety. Drawing will be provided to show extent. Humidifier and AHU have common drain.

3. Is the condensate drain system for the AHUs to be replaced in its entirety or just a disconnect & reconnect?

Note: If these systems are to be totally replaced please provide a drawing that shows routing & sizes

Answer: All condensate/ drain piping in the trench will be replaced in its entirety. Drawing will be provided to show extent. Humidifier and AHU have common drain.

4. What product are we to use to seal the concrete trench? Please clarify Answer: See attached spec for concrete sealer.

5. Will the 2” chilled water back feed be sufficient in size to supply AHUs 9, 8, 7, & 6 once we are at that stage in the project, while the piping is being replaced? Or can the facility operate on less that four AHUs?

Answer: The secondary piping will be connected to AHU’s 7, 8, and 9. Those three AHU’s provide cooling while the piping to the main connection is replaced.

6. Sheet M501, detail 1, references EF-205 & plan sheet M401. But I do not see this information in the bid packet. Please clarify Answer: Disregard the reference to EF 205. Exhaust should be routed to exterior wall in Rm 12A.

7. Per the local Liebert rep, the Liebert AHUs have EC fans included and would not require a supply air scoop in this situation. Can the supply air scoop be removed from the project scope of work, if Liebert is used?

Answer: Provide scoop and damper

8. The Liebert rep also stated that the 12x4x48 damper would not be required, because the Liebert AHU controller has a back draft damper feature already. Can the 12x4x48 damper be removed from the project scope of work, if Liebert is used?

Answer: Provide scoop and damper
