Amendment 0002

1. Is there an existing central fire panel system for which the duct detectors will be needed to integrated with? I.e. do we need proprietary detectors from a specific vendor?

No central fire panel system to integrate to.

2. Existing condensing units are mounted on small beams so that they are elevated 4”-6” from the slab. Should new units be set directly on slab or new beams provided?

New units should be elevated on new beams.

3. Existing AHU’s are mounted on beam / spring assemblies. Shall new units be mounted in similar fashion or internal isolation acceptable? Or, is the elevation of the units for the purpose of having enough height for proper condensate drainage?

New units may be internally isolated and mounted on pad.

4. Not clear on Amendment #1, answer #2 regarding controls.

a. Is intent to temporarily remove devices and reinstall or provide new devices with existing wiring. We checked the control diagrams on site, and they seem to match the same points being shown on drawing ZMA-M601 so infer that we are temporarily disconnecting and reconnecting existing devices, switches, etc.

Provide and install new devices. Existing wire may be used if no splice is required.

Splices in control wire is not acceptable, if existing wire is not long enough new wire must be installed.

5. Confirm no auxiliary drain pans required under new AHU No auxiliary drain pans required under new AHU.

6. Confirm that metal jacketing is required on exterior DX piping insulation.

Metal jacketing required on exterior DX piping insulation.

7. Each units test period of 24 hours per 1.19 is this required to be witnessed? Scheduled in advance?

Testing period should be shown on construction schedule. Coordinate any deviations from schedule with COR. COR will witness testing.

8. Submittals Section 1.5.D the $350 deduct if a submittal is rejected and must be reviewed again seems excessive. There are many reasons a submittal could be rejected and as long as a contractor is acting in good faith why is this included?

This section will be removed from the specs along with this amendment.

9. Clarify all bonding requirements for this project.

Reconnect existing grounding and bonding cables to new condensing units.

10. Clarify the warranty requirements the specifications require much longer and more costly requirements than the Solicitation Package does.

Compressor warranty for 5 years, labor and parts for 1 year. Warranty requirements of spec updated with this amendment.

11. Section L states: L.3 CLIENT PAST PERFORMANCE DOCUMENTATION is required. Can subcontractor past performance be submitted?

Answer: No, Experience must be of the prime contractor. Subcontractor experience cannot be used in lieu of prime contractor experience.

The following Specification Changes are hereby incorporated into the RFO:
