LIST OF CHANGES:

See wiring diagram and revised drawings C001, G002, PAPI17-C003, and PAPI35-C003 as well as the specifications based on the questions below:

1. “Can native soils be used in lieu of imported sand bedding per plans? Based on the site pictures taken.”

Refer to Section 02200, 3.2.6 of the specifications. For excavations performed for the local utility, the local utility allows select backfill. FAA defines satisfactory material per Section 0220, 3.2.2 of the specifications. It is the responsibility of the contractor to coordinate all related utility excavations with the local utility.

2. “Can you please send wiring diagram per sheet LKV-D-PAPI-E002”

See PDF of wiring diagram.

3. “Per plans and spec`s it asks for the contractor to supply and erect runway X signs. We are having trouble locating a source that rents RWY X signs. If the contractor has to purchase these RWY X signs does the airport have a need / want to purchase these form the contractor? OR Does the FAA have a source or know where to rent these?“

The contractor may use non-lighted X’s as a substitute as long as runway lighting are non-operational during the Lake County Airport runway 17/35 night closures. Amended drawings and specifications attached see sheet -C002, -G002 note 1, and section 01010, 1.1 of the specifications.

4. “In the prints (LKV-D-PAPI17-C001 & 2) It asks The contractor to provide 36” long radius sweeps at PED. Is the contractor installing the SVEC –provided CJP-10-33 JUNCTION BOXES? “

SVEC is responsible for installation of the cable junction pedestals and SVEC transformers, as well as pulling in primary and secondary conductors.

5. “For the new pedestals being install by SVEC, some of these pedestals a in excess of 600’ apart. We understand the FAA allows up to 1,000’ on straight pulls. Can we verify if this meets the SVEC regulations as typically pull points are limited to 400’ max.?”

SVEC is responsible for installation of the cable junction pedestals and SVEC transformers, as well as pulling in primary and secondary conductors.

6. “Sheet C003 is showing a 4’x4’x4’ Handhole and sheet C005 is showing a 2’x3’x3’ handhole, which is correct?”

Please use 2’x3’x3’ handholes. Drawings have been updated to reflect the correct handhole size, see sheets – PAPI35-C003 and -PAPI17-C003 for changes.

7. “The steel Door on the Handhole, if we are using the 24 x 36 handhole we can use the INWESCO 2436 H-20 shock Assist Door, if we are using the 4x4x4 concrete handhole we will need to use the INWESCO 4848 H-20 Shock assist Double Doors. Is this acceptable?”

As long as handhole meets requirements as defined on handhole detail on sheet C006.

8. “Does the asphalt “tie-in” to the runway asphalt need to be saw cut and notched into the runway, or is it be butted up to the runway edge? If it is to be notched, how deep into the runway is it required to be notched?”

Refer to Section 02740 3.3 of the Specifications.

9. “For the work which needs to be performed while the runway is closed, what are the hours we are allowed to close the runway?”

While these hours are at the discretion of the airport and are subject to change, please consider the hours when the runway is closed to be 2100-0600.

File details come from the government source that posted it.
