About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for a federal contract (Solicitation 6973GH-25-R-00183) involving an FAA project at the ARSR King Mountain site in Texas. The RFI contains six contractor questions and official responses addressing technical details for a construction/renovation project, including: drawing print specifications, equipment dust protection methods, site condition documentation, exterior cable tray panel replacements, GFCI outlet relocation, and a requested contract timeline extension. Key technical requirements include replacing missing cable tray sheet panels, relocating a GFCI outlet 10'-15' using rigid RGC conduit, implementing dust control measures for sensitive electronic equipment, and using specific protective covering techniques like PVC sheets or breathable fabric. The document indicates a project timeline spanning from December 2024 to September 2025, with the RFI responses dated September 22, 2025, and the contracting officer granting a potential one-week extension for proposal preparation.

JCN 1704732 QOM ARSR King Mountain TX 6 RFI Replies September 22, 2025.

1) I was wondering if you had the attached drawings that are bigger than 8.5”x11”. We would like to get them printed to scale for our use.

Reply. To print pdf drawings on tabloid (11” x 17”) size paper, the printer must have that capability.

There are places Contractors may go to have the pdf drawing printer in “D” size paper on their own.

FAA does not provide AutoCAD drawings to Contractors, only drawing in pdf format.

2) Can further clarification be provided on what equipment can be covered and with what type of fabric as to not damage the equipment?

Reply. “Protect sensitive equipment from dust or damage, see Section 01 56 00.” “In the Preconstruction Meeting will be an appropriate time to address dust control implementation. Develop a mutual understanding relative to compliance with these provisions and administration of the Contractor dust control measures.” The Contractor is responsible for how they plan to provide dust control. Do not cover the equipment for dust control to avoid Equipment Room electronic equipment from overheating damage. PVC sheets or breathable fabric cover clipped to the ceiling ACT frame draped around the equipment is the photograph example in Attachment “A” photograph 40 Dust Control Example. During construction coordinate dust control with the RE/COR who administers the contract. RE/COR will coordinate with the FAA SSC staff.

3) During the site visit, the contractors were not allowed to take pictures inside the equipment room.

Can these pictures be provided to show the existing conditions?

Reply. See Attachment ”A” photographs 18 through 24 of the Equipment Room, typical of ceilings and walls. The Site Visit and design document is intended for Contractors to understand the project scope entailed to prepare their bid proposals. No additional photographs are available.

4) There was noticed to be missing sheet panels on the exterior cable tray, would you like the contractor to include this replacement/install in their proposal? If so, can further details be provided for the replacement sheets?

Reply. Yes. Contractor shall field verify and replace missing exterior cable tray underside sheet panels in kind prior to power washing and painting with Rust Grip per specifications. See photographs below.

December 3, 2024. September 10, 2025.

5) One of the exterior GFIs is currently located in an inaccessible location, would you like the contractor to relocate this outlet via extending the current circuit and exterior conduit?

Reply. Yes. The Contractor shall relocate an exterior GFCI outlet by moving it 10’-15’ from one side of the building, around the corner from the HVAC building end side to the rear exterior building wall side. The conduit can be extended on the exterior by using rigid RGC and tapping into the old outlet.

6) Can an extension of a week be granted, to allow for sufficient time after the answers to these questions are provided?

Reply. Yes, provided Contracting concurs.
