Q&A Sheet

6973GH-25-Q-00099; ZKC Doors

Q1. What are the dimensions of door 109? We would like to know to get the correct size of the exit device.

A. Width – 2 x 3’-0” Height – 7’-0

Q2. Do we need to add any kind of finish to the concrete inside of the doors (Broom finish, polishing, etc)?

A. Broom

Q3. Most if not all of the thresholds do not match on the inside and outside. For these - can we put the concrete in first in order to have everything be flush for the thresholds, or will the doors and thresholds have to go in first for security purposes?

A. Although there are slight differences in the inside and outside elevations of the concrete on either side of the thresholds, no major work to correct those differences is required as a part of this SOW. Minor work to the concrete, chipping, grouting, etc., to correct slight elevation differences is acceptable.

Q4. What will be the duration of the warranty be, we’re assuming 1 year?

A. Warranty information can be found on page 24 of the scope of work

Q5. Do doors need to be fire-rated?

A. No

Q6. Some doors have magnetic locks; the removal and reinstallation will be conducted by a third party?

A. Coordination of the electric lock removal and reconnection will be done with FAA personnel. Actual removal and reconnection will be done through FAA’s SSDI contractor

Q7. Do you know the size of the flush bolts?

A. They measure 6-3/4” high

Q7. I was curious what your thoughts or opinion is on the 6 door pairs. 101 & 102 have Surface Vertical Rod panics on the active door. Those panics lock that door down by a latch at the top and the bottom. 107, 110 & 112 have Mortise Panics on the active doors that lock into the strike plate prepped in the edge of the in-active door. 109 get new hardware only. If it’s Mortise lock that is on there now I can go back with a Mortised Panic. If it’s a cylindrical lock I would have to go back with a Surface Vertical Rod Panic. I did not notice what kind of lock was on 109. I am sure most of those panic devices were not original to those doors because they all have cover plates under them to cover up old holes. Do you want to standardize all the panics on the door pairs?

A. Standardization is not necessary.

Q7. What kind of lock is on door 109?

A. There is no lock on door 109.
