including all associated conduits and wiring. The center VOR antennas and DME antenna inside of the existing fiberglass teepee will be removed by the FAA. All work must be accomplished with the assistance of the FAA. Any penetrations exposed in the roof as a result of the removal of these antennas shall be temporarily covered and weatherproofed until the new roof is installed to prevent water from entering the inside of the building. All antennas and associated hardware shall be turned over to the FAA. The 16 monitor antennas shall be set aside and protected from damage.

2.) Remove all grounding down conductors and PVC conduit down to the existing building 4/0 counterpoise (2 feet deep and approx. 3 feet from exterior of building) that exists around the perimeter of the building. The counterpoise shall remain in place.

3.) Contractor shall carefully remove the existing fiberglass teepee from the VOR roof by means of a crane / telehandler. The existing fiberglass teepee will be refurbished for use at another location. The Contractor shall coordinate the on-site pick-up and transportation of the fiberglass teepee with the company doing the refurbishment as follows:

T Coyman Enterprises Terry Coyman Cell (603) 396-3269 tcoyman@tcoymanenterprises.com

The contractor is responsible for all costs related to the removal and loading of the teepee (removal from the roof and loading onto the truck from T Coyman Enterprises). The Contractor is not responsible for payment to T. Coyman Enterprises for costs related to the transportation of the fiberglass teepee, those costs will be borne by the FAA. Approximate dimensions for tepee; 16 feet tall, 6 foot diameter at the base, 2” wide flange all around screwed / bolted to roof deck (covered with roofing cement / flashing / roofing material).

Tepee weighs approximately 800 lbs.

4.) If the teepee is removed prior to the refurbish contractor’s trailer arriving on site, the fiberglass teepee shall be securely tied down. The teepee shall be kept upright and be placed on wood timbers and tied down with strapping to prevent it from tipping over. The contractor shall have the means necessary to load the teepee on to the refurbish contractor’s trailer at the coordinated time.

5.) Demolish and remove the existing roof membrane down to the roof deck for disposal. The existing roof membrane is modified bitumen with 1 inch thick polyiso board insulation.

Beneath the asphaltic roof membrane are metal 18 in. x 24 in. terne plates soldered together, which forms a counterpoise.

6.) Once the roof membrane is properly removed, the Contractor shall remove the existing T&G wood decking at points that extend beyond the outer perimeter of the building.

The underside of the tongue and groove decking shall not be visible at project completion. This item includes framing as necessary to support fascia / soffit. Please note that this facility is exposed to high winds, the framing and attachment methods shall take that into account. Discuss framing and attachment methods on site with COR before starting work.

14.) Install lightning protection on new roof per attached drawings.

15.) Install blown-in insulation in attic space above existing roof deck and below the new roof.

The insulation shall have a minimum 38 R-value.
