1. SOW section 1.1 states the following:
-Install new wooden fence to replace existing fence
- Shelter fence 25 ft. L x 20 ft. W (with 5’7.5” gate) -Guy fence (x10) 16 ft. L x 6 ft. W
- Tower fence (x2) 10 ft. L x 10 ft. W
- Feed point pole 10 ft. L x 6 ft. W
- Feed point guys (x3) 8 ft. L x 8 ft. W
- Shelter fence -All fences consist of pressure treated lumber 4x4 posts (4 ft. above grade finished height) with
3- 2x6 horizontal rails
2. Drawing SAR-FL-13224-FR-01 reflects a different amount of tower guy anchor fences than listed in the SOW. Please specify which guy anchor fences are to be replaced and if the west and east auxiliary towers are to be fenced as well. All fences are to be replaced. Alternate plans to combine fences may be entertained with winning contractor.
3. Who is responsible for disposing of the existing connex? The winning contractor will be responsible for the disposal of the existing shelter. (Shelter SOW 1.1 Objectives, 9th bullet item)
4. During the site visit it was observed that the existing access road and the entire site was very wet. To achieve shelter installation we may need to install a temporary dirt and gravel road. Will this road need to be removed at project completion? It would be permissible to install the needed dirt and gravel to allow access to the site and to leave it in place once the project is completed. Another option would be to utilize railroad ties, temporary ground mats or something similar to allow the crane to move in and out of the site, and to set up, in a manner that would not damage the ground.
5. To determine the amount of form work / fill dirt that is required, what is the finished foundation elevation or finished floor of the shelter height? The new shelter will have a 24” riser underneath it, putting the finish floor 24” above grade. It is desired to have a slab type foundation that the shelter will sit on top of. A DuPont drawing of the shelter construction and suggested foundation will be provided at a later date.
1. Guy anchor fences-The number fence enclosures in the SOW Objectives (Sect 1.1) is indicated as 10, plus 4 feed point fences but the drawings show 25 guy anchor locations. Please verify the number of fence enclosures. Correct, there are 25 anchor locations, 5 tower locations and a shelter that require the fencing to be replaced. All fences are designed to be individual structures but alternate plans to combine fences may be entertained with the winning contractor.
2. In order to provide engineering calculations for the 12’x16’ shelter we need some additional information. Can you provide estimated height of structure and any other details? We are assuming the structure is anchored to the concrete slab with bolts. Is the anchoring hardware provided with the structure, if not can you provide details/sketch on the anchors? It is recommended that the shelter be bolted onto a slab foundation. The drawing from DuPont will be provided once they are available which will include suggested foundation plans. The shelter will have a 24” I-beam type riser underneath it with a 36’ x 54” landing deck at each doorway with steps.
6. During the site visit it was noticed the ground between the entrance gate and the existing building was waterlogged and impassable by heavy equipment. If necessary can fill material be brought in to stabilize the ground for the crane to access the site? If so, does the material need to be removed following heavy equipment activities? It would be permissible to install the needed dirt and gravel to allow access to the site and to leave it in place once the project is completed. Another option would be to utilize railroad ties, temporary ground mats or something similar to allow the crane to move in and out of the site, and to set up, in a manner that would not damage the ground.
7. Please confirm that the contractor needs to relocate data /transmission cabling and equipment from existing shelter to new pre fab building. If so can you provide a list of equipment/data lines? The contractor will be responsible to relocate/install transmission line and the equipment from the existing shelter to new pre fab shelter. A list of equipment will be provided to the winning bidder during the coordination stage after the award has been made.
8. the guy wires and anchors are not to be touched. It is the fencing around the anchors that will be replaced. I do not have the particulars for the shelter just yet from DuPont I have attached the Leeton, MO building drawing for reference as this will be the same with the addition of a 24” I-beam sub-frame that will be providing a 24” riser for the building. I have attached a photo to give a general idea of the shelter but the actual shelter will have two doors with a 36” x 54”deck at each door. A slab foundation that the building will sit on would be preferred. I have also attached a photo of the 10’ x 33’ wood framed existing shelter per request below.
