Questions & Answers for SIR 6973GH-20-R-00184 Replacement of HVAC units in Lubbock, TX
In Section #2 Scope of Work
1) Per item #3- Provide and install three identical 12.5 ton package units.
Existing Model # and the Existing Serial # of the units Model – Carrier 50PG-M14-A-50 Serial – 3306G10003, 3306G10004, and 3306G10005 (see Photo below)
2) In the statement of work it states: “If peripheral hardware (Carrier Navigator display module, etc.) is required for the local staff to interface with the units during standard operation, contractor shall discuss with the SSC and provide minimum of 2.”
Question- If we are to provide additional equipment need to know so it can be included in the bid price.
Whether or not a peripheral device is required will depend on the unit selected. While I don’t think it’s likely we’ll need some, it’s possible depending on the level of control the units offer out of the box and what the SSC needs to do to service them. Please provide a submittal for the proposed unit and we can all review and discuss.
3) Per item #7- Provide quote for repair or replacement of any deficient dampers if found.
Question) this item will have to be done after project is in process and will be addressed in a change order, unless a list of items can be provided for bid.
That’s certainly fair. Can you ballpark how much that change order might be?
4) Per item #15- replace existing breakers in panel and provide spares.
Question) – What Type of Bkr, Who is the MFR, What Amprage and how many spares are to be provided?
3 pole, Square D, FA Frame, 100 Amp, 600 Volt. (See below) 1 spare for each unit. 6 breakers total.
They must be compatible with the existing Square-D I-Line panel 5486-12U (photo below), and meet new unit manufacturer’s recommendations as well as FAA 1217G “Electrical Work, Interior” to be accepted.
5) Per item #16- Provide Temp A/C unit Question 1) – How far is it to the power to supply the temp unit?
This depends on which door the SSC would prefer the temporary unit to block. Confirm with a site visit, but according to facility drawings (and assuming the power will be connected to one of the panels near the back door) Back door, approximately 20-30 feet.
Front door, approximately 30-40 feet.
Question 2) – How far from where the temp A/C will be placed to where there is a door or a vent to install the temp ducts?
I am imagining that a single duct will go from the door, down the center aisle, and end near the MODE-S. But again, coordination with site techs is required.
Using the configuration above, from either door, about 40-50 feet.
