Questions and Answers as of 17 August 2020

1. Per the statement of work, it shows all pavement going back at 6” thick. Based on the original plan set provided, the concrete in Area 1 that is being removed is 8” thick and the rest of the Area’s are 7” thick. So to put the lot back at its current elevations aggregate base will need to be brought in. Is there a spec for the aggregate to be used? Or just use a MoDOT type 5 (3/4” Minus)? Bidders shall submit pricing based on using MoDOT Type 5 aggregate base under the new concrete for re‐establishing existing elevations and drainage for new pavement.

2. Will you provide locates for the service lines going into the building, so we know where to hand dig while installing the under drain system? Yes, the onsite team will have cables, etc marked inside the fence of the center.

3. With the new pavement being 6” thick, the dowel bar and tie bar details per the reference plan set provided will need to be revised for 6” pavement. Can we follow MoDOT typical plans for 6” pavement? Yes

4. Will compaction testing be required for the subgrade? If so, frequency? Compaction testing type and frequency are not specified as part of the scope of work. The contractor shall however follow minimum industry and professional paving standards of practice to provide proper compaction using some type of testing means (such as proof‐rolling with heavy equipment or other means) to assure adequate compaction is attained for each area previous to placement of new pavement.

5. Per the concrete mix design in the SOW, it states no limestone and granite as a substitute. That is a KC mix design, and in KC they have a very soft limestone, unlike the limestone here. If a hard aggregate is required, Meramec stone is commonly used here and is much harder than granite and cheaper. I’m sure the plants could provide a proxy to show this. Can we use Meramec stone in the mix? At this time, please provide quotes based on the specifications in the SOW.
