Questions & Answers as of 7-28-2020
SIR 6973GH-20-R-00090
Q. Is there a Statement of Work for this project?
A. Please see the Statement of Work titled “FAY ASR HVAC SOW” under Attachments/Links in betasam.gov.
Q. What are the sizes of the HVAC units that need to be replaced?
A. The existing HVAC units are 25 ton units.
Q. New Equipment Voltage is 208/3/60 and Temp Unit Equipment Voltage is 460/3/60.
Please confirm which one is true?
A. The Temporary Unit Schedule on DWG M004 incorrectly lists the voltage as 460. Both the Temporary and New package units should be 208/3/60.
Q. This is a request for clarification regarding a requirement in the written specification for solicitation 6973GH-20-R-00090. The written spec requires the units to have double wall construction:
PACKAGED, LARGE-CAPACITY, ROOFTOP
AIR-CONDITIONING UNITS - 23 74 16.13 - 3
2.3 UNIT CASINGS
A. General Fabrication Requirements for Casings: Formed and reinforced double-wall insulated panels, fabricated to allow removal for access to internal parts and components, with joints between sections sealed.
The Trane unit specified in the drwgs does not have double wall casings as a factory option, so this would need to be added as an aftermarket item, which our Trane sales person does NOT recommend. Can you please confirm or clarify?
A. The units are not required to have double walled casing. That is an error in this spec as well. The standard factory provided unit is what we are looking for; single wall with exposed insulation.
