Q&A (2nd set)

Is just one truck needed for moving the anchors from the Ft. Eustis site? I guess that would depend on the trailer – the anchors weigh 18,000 lbs each. How long will the truck need to be at Ft. Eustis? Loading will begin as soon as possible after the trucks arrive or the work day begins. How long will it take to load/unload? Loading usually takes an hour or two.

• For insurance purposes, what is the value of each anchor and the chains? Here are some numbers we came up with, you would want to use the used price.

• 25K anchor, $1.25/lb new, $.80/lb used. Price range: $20,000 - $31,250.

• 18K anchor, $1.35/lb new, $.90/lb used. Price range $16,200 - $22,500. We are shipping used anchors here.

• In case it’s asked, used 2 ¾” dielock chain goes for $3,150 per shot. I couldn’t get a price on new chain.

Do the anchors need to be tarped? No How will the anchors be loaded, directionally, onto the trailer? Will they be stood up so that the anchors will not be over sized on the trailer, or will they be laid down, and thus need oversized permits? Again, this will depend on the truck and driver. We will attempt to load them per the driver’s wishes. I don’t think that an anchor laid down would be an oversized load for this size anchor – I could be wrong.

Will the driver be required to strap the anchors with their own personal owned chains, or will chains be provided? The driver should plan on securing his own load with his equipment. We can assist if needed.

I had a question around the anchors that are to be picked up in Benicia, CA. The request lists the dimensions as 13’ x 11’ 6” x 5’. Can you confirm if the anchors can be loaded onto the trailer with the 5’ dimension as the width or if they will need to go on the trailer with the 11’ 6” or 13’ dimension as the width.

13’ is the “length of the shank,”, and 11’ 6” is the “width of the anchor/grapple/foot.
