QUESTIONS REGARDING REQUEST FOR QUOTATION NUMBER 693C7319Q000045

1. Can you please verify for me that documenting the RBC crown locations/relocations with a submeter GPS will or will not be accurate enough for the contract expectations. I am thinking that a survey grade total station would be more accurate for this purpose, but it may be overkill for what the agencies are looking for.

The Statement of Work (SOW) states that GPS is to be used to document the locations(s) of suitable habitat for temporary relocation, and to record the location of each RBC rooted crown. The attached MNF Botany Survey Protocol indicates that for all surveys, the botanist should use a mapping grade GPS unit and that all GPS locations should have a horizontal accuracy of 5 meters or less. GPS with submeter accuracy is sufficient for the tasks identified in the SOW. However, you can propose an option to utilize survey grade total station as part of your quote.

1. Also, as per the botany survey requested for this project in task 2, how big of an area needs surveyed in association with the relocation area (i.e. 50 feet on either side of the relocation area)?

Task I, under Section II of the SOW, requires the completion of a botany survey for the proposed relocation area. Only the limits of the proposed relocation area need to be surveyed. The proposed location and size of the relocation area is to be determined as part of the work for this task.
