About this file
This document is an Oversize Vehicles Request for Yellowstone National Park. It outlines the requirements and restrictions for vehicles and loads exceeding statutory limits in the park. Key details include:
Oversize vehicles and loads over 80,000 lbs gross vehicle weight are permitted but must comply with state requirements for axles, bridge length, and weight limits. Cranes over 100 tons require a sketch for approval at least 2 weeks prior to transport. Travel for oversize vehicles is restricted to 9pm-9am during peak visitation from Memorial Day to September 15th. Various requirements are detailed for oversize signage, lighting, speed limits, and use of turnouts. A permit application form is included for applicants to provide vehicle configuration details.
