About this file

This document contains general technical questions and answers regarding solicitation number 69056722B000021 from the Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration for repairs to bridges and structures at the Charles M Russell National Wildlife Refuge in Montana. Four questions were asked and addressed regarding the ability to use previously approved bridge designs for simplification and cost savings, whether bridge steel needs to be galvanized, and whether a NPCA certificate would be acceptable in place of a PCI certificate given the lack of prestressed members in the project. Clarification on these issues will be provided in Amendment A001 to the solicitation.

Are we allowed to design the bridges using previous approved bridge specs that meet all

ASSHTO standards while simplifying the design as well as being more economical? Can we also use a glue‐lam scupper system for the Rock

Creek bridge if desired.

Specification 552.11(b)(6) clearly states a PCI certificate for this project; however, there are no prestressed members in this project, so can you let us know if a NPCA certificate is acceptable.

This will be addressed under Amendment

A001.
