About this file

This document contains answers to technical questions regarding federal contract number 69056722B000009 for the OR CROOK 123(1), Ochoco Ranger Station Road Overlay project. The work involves hot asphalt concrete, shoulder aggregate, asphalt milling, raising existing guardrail, new guardrail terminals, striping, and temporary traffic control. Questions addressed include the purpose of budgeted fiber roll quantities, whether any non-federal encroachment permits are required, and if wood posts require concrete footings or foam can be used instead due to lack of water. The responses clarify that further fiber roll details will be in Amendment A001, an encroachment permit may be needed per plan sheet SCR 107.01, and concrete is not required for traffic control sign posts per plan sheet F.5. The federal agency is the Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration.

I see the detail plan for bid item A2100 fiber roll and the quantity but have no idea on plan set where we are installing the 2,200 lnft. Is this a

‘just in case we need it’ budget number? Are there any further details you can share? Please advise.

This will be addressed under Amendment

A001.

Does this project encroach on any jurisdictions outside of federal control that would require us to get an Encroachment Permit?

Yes, see SCR 107.01. 2/2/2023

3 X

Do the wood posts need to be placed in concrete or could a non‐toxic post foam be used? Due to the lack of available water.

The plans do not require concrete footings for wood posts that traffic control signs will be mounted on. See Sheet F.5 for details.
