About this file
This document is a procurement flyer from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Division of Procurement and Contracting regarding Solicitation Number 6100051358 for Legionella Water Sampling at PSSH & HVH. The solicitation is for water sampling and lab analysis services, with the opening date and time set for September 18, 2020. The flyer clarifies several details of the required services, including that samples are to be collected from potable water sources such as sinks, faucets, tubs, ice machines, and showerheads, and that testing and documentation of water temperature, residual biocide levels, and pH are required. The flyer also indicates that while the statement of work mentions inspection and remediation, the facilities are responsible for their own remediation if trace amounts of Legionella are found, and the contractor awardee is not responsible for those services.
The flyer does not provide any details on pricing terms, set-asides, incumbents, funding requirements or sources, or contract term and renewal options. The focus is on clarifying the scope of the required water sampling and analysis services.

1. Are samples to be collected only on potable water sources? Or are “Outlets” include the points in the water distribution system where the end user comes in contact with the water (e.g., faucets and showers)? Sinks Faucets, Tubs, Ice machines, Shower heads.
2. Does water sampling include testing and documentation of the following for each sample: water temperature, level of residual biocide, and pH? Testing Documentation YES . Levels of Biocide, PH is not recorded or documented currently.
3. The statement of work mentions inspection and remediation in several locations but does elaborate anything specifically for this bid. Other than just water sampling and lab analysis for legionella, are there inspection and/or remediation services requested for this bid? The facilities remediate their own if trace amounts are found. HVH hasn’t had a large enough hit to have a professional remediation take place.
4. If there are positive samples, is the contractor awardee responsible for inspection and remediation? The facilities remediate then contacts the vendor for re-sample testing.
