About this file

This is a minimum insurance requirements document for the Broward County Parks and Recreation Division's procurement of ADA-compliant mats, including purchase and delivery services. The project requires vendors to maintain comprehensive general liability insurance with minimum limits of $500,000 per occurrence and $500,000 aggregate, along with $500,000 in combined bodily injury and property damage coverage. Additional insurance requirements include auto liability coverage of $500,000 per occurrence (waivable if no driving is involved in service delivery), workers' compensation at statutory limits, employers' liability of $100,000 per accident, and an installation floater if builder's risk or property coverage is not carried. The certificate holder is Broward County, located at 115 South Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301, and the County must be named as an additional insured on all policies.

The County's insurance requirements specify that the contractor's insurance shall provide primary coverage with no requirement for contribution from the County, and a waiver of subrogation must apply in favor of Broward County. Proof of insurance is not required if delivery is completed by common carrier. The contractor must provide 30 days' written notice of policy cancellation and 10 days' notice for cancellation due to non-payment. For claims-made policies, evidence of insurance must be maintained and provided for a minimum of three years following contract completion. Maximum allowable deductibles are set at $10,000 for pollution and environmental liability claims and $100,000 for professional liability claims; for builder's risk or property coverage, wind and flood deductibles cannot exceed 5 percent of completed value.
