About this file

This document is a Bid Bond Confirmation and Bid Check Return Authorization Form from Harris County, Texas, designed for potential bidders submitting bids or proposals. The form provides instructions for submitting either a bid bond or a cashier's check when participating in a county procurement process. For bid submissions, the County Clerk may retain bid checks from the three lowest bidders until after contract award, performance bond receipt, and approval. For Request for Proposal (RFP) submissions, bid checks will be retained by the Office of the Purchasing Agent under similar conditions.

The form authorizes Harris County to return the bid check via regular mail under three specific circumstances: if the bidder is unsuccessful, after a performance bond (and payment bond, if required) replaces the bid check, or upon contract completion. Bidders must submit the check or bond for the required amount, payable to Harris County, and not to any individual. The form requires detailed information including bid/check numbers, bank details, business contact information, and provides sections for both bid bond and cashier's check submissions. The document was revised on 3/24/21 and includes a section for County Clerk/Purchasing Agent use to track check mailing and administrative details.
