About this file
This document is a Heat Protection Safety Requirement specification for a project's safety guidelines. The document outlines comprehensive weather-related safety provisions for workers, specifically addressing extreme heat, cold, and adverse weather conditions that must be included in the project's Safety Plan. The Prime Contractor is required to provide worker protections and accommodations, with a specific emphasis on a Heat Awareness Plan when temperatures exceed 90 degrees (by temperature or heat index). The plan must include provisions for worker acclimatization, access to water, rest periods, and shade.
Vendors must acknowledge and agree to these safety requirements by signing the Bid Acknowledgement at the time of submission. The specification mandates that the project Safety Plan comprehensively address worker safety throughout the execution of work, with special considerations during extended periods of challenging weather conditions. By signing, vendors commit to implementing these heat protection safety measures to ensure worker health and safety during the project's duration.
