About this file

This is a Hazardous Materials Survey document prepared for the State of Utah's Division of Facilities Construction and Management (DFCM) in connection with Project #27329900, which involves the replacement and repair of five pump houses to meet Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) operational needs. The survey encompasses all project locations and serves as a supporting document for the design services request for proposal. The hazmat survey is a prerequisite assessment required to identify and document any hazardous materials present at the pump house sites prior to construction activities. This environmental assessment is critical for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and establishing baseline conditions for the renovation and replacement work.

The hazmat survey findings will inform the design and construction phases of the project, which has an overall construction budget of $3,242,656.00. The survey results are essential for the qualified firms and individuals responding to the VBS Consultant Services design services solicitation to develop appropriate remediation plans, material handling procedures, and safety protocols. The identification of hazardous materials at all project locations will impact project scheduling, cost estimates, and the scope of work required from design consultants and construction contractors throughout the pump house replacement and repair initiative.

We were hired by DFCM to smaple for suspect LBP for a potential demolition. Samples were taken by Scott Bainbridge, using a SciAps X-550 XRF. Lead Based Paint (LBP) is classified as 1.0 mg/cm² by weight by HUD. The results are included in this report.

There were no painted finishes that contained lead on the structure or the attached equipment.

Refer to HUD, OSHA and EPA regulations regarding LBP of any amount regarding handling of LBP during renovation or demolition. TCLP testing may be needed if paint with lead content is in the waste stream.
