About this file

This document is an Addendum 1 for IFB 26IFB009 for Print Services and Promotional Items issued by Austin Independent School District. The addendum contains a comprehensive list of questions and answers related to various printing and promotional items, including newsletters, flyers, event programs, booklets, certificates, letterhead, lamination, offset printing, personalized letters, carbonless forms, metal signs, acrylic signs, window decals, construction signs, UV printing, sublimation services for shirts, hoodies, tablecloths, polo shirts, embroidered caps, and drawstring backpacks. The district indicates that orders will be placed throughout the year in smaller batches as needed, with quantities varying based on individual school requirements.

The document reveals flexible specifications for most items, with no strict requirements on brands, colors, or specific styles. For example, t-shirts will use Gildan Softstyle in various colors, hoodies will depend on school colors, and lamination thicknesses range from 3 to 10 mil. The district emphasizes that designs will typically be provided by the schools or district, and printing needs will be dynamic, accommodating various project specifications. The addendum suggests this is an initial contract for some items, such as embroidered caps, and the district expects to refine their preferences over time. The printing services will support ongoing school and district communication, promotional, and administrative needs across multiple departments and campuses.

26IFB009 Print Services and Promotional Items Addendum 1: Questions and Answers

1. Question: For the following lines, will these be printed in color or in black and white?

#1-1 Newsletters #1-2 Flyers #1-4 Event Programs - also is there a page count per program?

#1-5 Booklets #1-6 Certificates #1-7 Letterhead

Answer: Items listed will be printed in both color and black and white. Page counts for event programs may vary depending on the event, generally ranging from 4 to 20 pages per program.

2. Question: On line item #1-8 Lamination, What lamination thickness would you like?, Will these have an 1/8" edge seal? Will these be identical images or will we need to keep them in order?

Answer: Most of the time, the images are identical because they originate from headquarters. However, there have been variations in lamination thickness based on past orders. Teachers at individual campuses often have their own laminating machines and have selected different thicknesses depending on their needs. As for the edge seal, some past orders have included the 1/8" seal, but this has varied. We recommend confirming the preferred thickness and edge seal on a per-order basis. Typically, these do not need to be kept in a specific order.

Below are the typical thicknesses we’ve used:
