About this file

This is Addendum 0002 to Request for Quote No. 5-B175-Q-00248-00 for an Inert Atmosphere Robotic Platform at Argonne National Laboratory. The addendum extends the proposal due date to January 28, 2025, and provides responses to questions about the Statement of Work.

Key clarifications include: ANL will handle AI/ML workflow development and robot integration into the Polybot system; the platform components include items like gloveboxes; the Python API is needed to control modules and access H2O/O2 content; blade coater requirements include a heated stage with adjustable blade height (0.5-1.5cm width); and the system needs multiple probe positions (minimum 4) with independent movement capability for electrical measurements. The work will be performed at Building 440, Lab B121 at Argonne National Laboratory, and includes contractor tasks for procurement, installation, testing, and staff training.

01/24/2025 This addendum is being issued to modify the subject as follows:

· To extend the proposal due date to 01/28/2025

· To provide responses to the questions regarding the Statement of Work below. Responses are in green.

3.0 Objectives

Support AI/ML Integration: Develop workflows for AI-guided experiments in a controlled, inert environment. What is included in the scope of developing workflows? Can you provide an example? Is this something ANL is handling?

· ANL will handle it.

4.0 Tasks

The following tasks are performed by the contractor awarded this contract:

Task 1: The contractor will procure the platform components. No refurbished or counterfeit parts may be used in any of the procured components. What are the platform components that need to be procured?

· For example, the glovebox Task 4: Install and integrate the robotic platform into the Polybot system in Lab B121 of Building 440, Argonne National Laboratory. What is involved in the integration of the robot into the Polynot system? Need more details.

· ANL will handle it

Task 5: Establish initial workflows and test the system’s performance (Complete a site/final acceptance test). What is establishing initial workflows? Does that mean programming the robot to prove out the functionality?

· The functions of the robotic workflow are described in the deliverables. Yes.

Task 6: Provide training to Argonne staff on the safe and effective use of the platform.

5.0 Deliverables:

· The current version of the software uses a Python user interface for full control of the experiment. While this works for a single-loop experiment, we need to integrate it with our existing software. Therefore, we require a Python API to control all the modules individually and to set the experimental conditions. Need more details on the Python API. What exactly is Python API/. Quick Google proivdes a basic understanding. Is API just needed to access H2O and O2 content of the glovebox?

· Yes.

1. Blade coating organic semiconductor layer Blade height control.

Switch blade with different width Easy blade removal for cleaning and blade replacement spin coating What are the requirements of the blade coater? Coating thickness, width, and what materials are being used for the coating

· Blade coater needs to have a heated stage, the blade height can be adjusted, the blade width is adjustable, from 0.5 cm ~1.5cm.

2. Annealing film Do you have a specific model on mind

· Hot plate

3. Electrical Measurement Two probes configurations based on the device

Besides Keitheley, the probe need to switch between several device like Palmsens

We need multiple probe positions (at least 4) with varying position placement (e.g. for 4pp, van der Pauw measurements) and independence of movement (e.g. can lift one probe separately if needed). Do you have a specific model that you would like quoted?

· No.
