About this file
Addendum No. 2 for the Grass Lake Weigh Station Addition project is issued by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) and Michigan State Police (MSP), dated June 27, 2025. The addendum provides clarifications and responses to bidder questions for a construction project involving an addition to the existing weigh station located at 12501 I-94 in Grass Lake, Michigan. Key project details include work hours of Monday-Friday 7am-5pm, the weigh station remaining operational during construction with some electrical shutdowns, and a planned project award in mid to late August 2025.
The addendum addresses various technical and logistical aspects of the project, including contractor responsibilities for relocating an existing shed, tile and finish specifications, door and window treatments, and security requirements. Contractors and subcontractors will need to undergo background checks, coordinate weekend work with MSP, and follow specific construction guidelines. The State of Michigan will provide an asbestos report in a future addendum and will supply furniture for the new conference room. An SESC permit is not required, but all SESC protocols must be followed. The pre-bid meeting attendance record is attached, indicating participation from several construction and engineering firms.
