About this file

This is a Non-Mandatory Addendum for Solicitation Number 54-DM-17052 issued by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) for Steel Toe Safety Shoes. The addendum is dated 03/18/2025 and provides clarification on shoe specifications for a procurement opportunity with a solicitation opening date of 03/27/2025 at 2:00 PM ET. The document addresses vendor questions specifically related to mobile unit shoe requirements, focusing on safety standards such as puncture resistance and met-guard protection.

The addendum clarifies that all shoes must be puncture-resistant, and safety toe shoes are required to meet ASTM F2413-18 standards. The state indicates a preference for at least 6 shoe styles offering met-guard protection. Importantly, the document confirms that all employees will be required to wear puncture-resistant boots. The procurement is being managed by Procurement Specialist Desmond McCleese, and the addendum is marked as non-mandatory, meaning vendors are not required to return it with their bid response.
