About this file

This document is an Addendum (Addendum 1) issued by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) for Solicitation Number 54-DM-17052, pertaining to Steel Toe Safety Shoes. The solicitation is scheduled to open on 03/27/2025 at 2:00 PM ET, with this addendum dated 03/18/2025. The addendum addresses vendor questions about mobile unit specifications and safety shoe requirements, clarifying that shoes should be puncture-resistant with at least 8 styles available on the mobile unit.

The addendum provides critical clarifications about safety shoe specifications, specifically noting that safety toe shoes must meet ATSM F2413-18 standards. While OSHA does not technically "approve" safety equipment, the document confirms that all NCDOT employees are required to have puncture-resistant boots. The procurement specialist for this solicitation is Desmond McCleese, and vendors are not required to return this addendum with their response. The document suggests this is a contract for providing mobile safety shoe services to NCDOT employees, with specific technical and safety requirements for the footwear.
