Q1. Drawings call to match the red pool tile. Tile prices vary greatly. Can the VA give a tile or manufacturer’s series so we know what to bid?

A1. After talking to our interior design side, we believe the tiles to be from this line or something similar:

Keystones (daltile.com)

The basis of design is Daltile Keystones in Brownberry D118 color, small tiles being 1x1 straight edge and the larger/rounded tiles being Universal Trim 2x1 (shape C701) or approved equal.

Q2. Sheet CS-100 has no Scale and a note that state “NOT FOR CONSTRUCTION.” Can we get one that has a proper scale?

A2. See attached corrected sheet, scale added and construction note removed. The remainder of the drawing set should be unchanged.

Q3. The solicitation states the following:

• This is a Full and Open competition solicitation (no socioeconomic set-aside). All qualified and interested bidders are welcome to submit a bid.

• The NAICS Code for this project is 238220. The Business Size Standard is $19 Million.

See VAAR 852.219-73 Paragraph (d) for Contractor performance requirements for this NAICS Code.

If the is open competition to all, not a set aside, why is that a contractor performance requirement?

A3. Neither VAAR 852.219-75 nor 852.219-73 is required for this procurement as this is not a set-aside requirement under VAAR 819.70. Therefore, these VAAR clauses will not apply to this requirement and shall not be considered.

Q4. Drawing AE-103 Note 3 state to reinstall pool lift and brought to working order. We need to know what is wrong with the lift in order to price this and to know if it is even fixable.

A4. Regarding RFI #4 and the pool lift, drawing sheet AE-103 has the “bring to working order” language. However, sheet AD-104 mentions tile removal and “prepare slab for remounting” which is what they should focus on.

Q5. Following up on a previous question I sent in on July 7. After looking at the spec, it states in 09 30 13-16 Part 2 Products:

2.1 TILE

1. Inspection procedures listed under the Appendix of ANSI A137.1.

2. Abrasion Resistance Classification: a. Tested in accordance with values listed in Table

1, ASTM C1027.

b. Class V, 12000 revolutions for floors in Corridors, Kitchens, Storage including Refrigerated Rooms

c. Class IV, 6000 revolutions for remaining areas.

3. Slip Resistant Tile for Floors: a. Coefficient of friction, when tested in accordance with ANSI A137.1 and measured per the TCNA DCOF AcuTest. 1) Equal to or greater than .42 for level interior tile floors that will be walked on when wet.

b. Tile Having Abrasive Grains:

1) Unglazed Ceramic Mosaic Tile: Abrasive grains throughout body of the tile.

2) Quarry Tile: Abrasive grains uniformly embedded in face at rate of approximately 7.5 percent of surface area.

c. Porcelain Paver Tile: Matte surface finish // with raised ridges spaced uniformly over tile surface //.

With no finish schedule, is either of the types of tile listed above acceptable to include in our bid?

A5. The basis of design is Daltile Keystones in Brownberry D118 color, small tiles being 1x1 straight edge and the larger/rounded tiles being Universal Trim 2x1 (shape C701) or approved equal.
