About this file

This file is Addendum #2 to an Invitation for Bids (IFB 5018-270002) issued by Grambling State University's Purchasing Department for residential life kitchenette renovations across three dormitory buildings: Douglas Hall, Robinson Hall, and Wheatley Hall. The addendum, dated August 5, 2026, modifies the original contract documents and clarifies specific scope requirements including contractor assistance with kitchen appliance installation, furnishing and installation of island cabinets per approved drawings, and electrical work spanning new 50-amp breaker circuits for electric ranges, replacement ceiling light fixtures with Lightolier-approved fixtures, and new range hood installations. The contract time is established at ninety (90) calendar days from the written Notice to Proceed, with a mandatory pre-bid site visit conducted on August 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Purchasing Conference Room (429 Maine Street, Grambling, Louisiana 71245), and bids due August 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. CST with public bid opening via Zoom at 2:45 p.m. CST.

The addendum specifies critical modifications to electrical and plumbing scope: deletion of stainless-steel backsplash requirements with continuous backsplash specification maintained, removal and capping of existing water lines and valves at Robinson Hall above the ceiling per plumbing codes, and deletion of battery backup requirements for ceiling light fixtures. Liquidated damages are assessed at Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) per calendar day for failure to achieve Substantial Completion within the contract timeframe, with extension requests considered only for delays determined by the Owner to be beyond the Contractor's reasonable control. The related contract opportunity requires bidders to carry comprehensive insurance coverage including Workers Compensation, Commercial General Liability with $1,000,000 minimum per occurrence, and Automobile Liability with $1,000,000 combined single limit naming Grambling State University as additional insured, while pricing must be quoted on a net, firm basis F.O.B. destination inclusive of all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supplies, insurance, permitting, taxes, and shipping, with payment terms of Net 30 following receipt of properly executed invoices.
