The addendum, issued July 29, 2026, modifies the original IFB released July 10, 2026, and clarifies project requirements across multiple items including fire alarm system integration, machine room specifications, alarm systems, pit sump configurations, code-required fire protection measures, security camera installation, and working hour restrictions. The contract time has been revised from six months to nine months. The mandatory pre-bid site visit occurred on July 16, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., and sealed bids are due August 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. CST, with public bid opening scheduled for August 6, 2026, at 2:05 p.m. CST via Zoom. Bidders must submit sealed bids electronically to purchasingbids@gram.edu. The sign-in sheet documents attendance from multiple elevator service companies at the pre-bid meeting, including Bobby N Jones Elevator Technical Services, Elevator Technical Services representatives, and other contractors.

Key project specifications include coordination with Everon Solutions (fire alarm service provider located at 1823 Royal Avenue, Monroe, LA) for fire alarm system integration and firefighter service activation. The Contractor shall provide pit sump alarm systems with specific components including copper piping, float switches, indicator lights, and alarm silencing mechanisms; install code-required heat and smoke detectors in equipment rooms and hoistways; ensure fire-rated suspended ceilings and doors in machine rooms; provide equipment room lighting and disconnects with minimum 42-inch clearances; and furnish labor for security camera mounting (with cameras supplied by the University). The University will handle specific pre-construction tasks including removal of existing supplies and equipment at Intramural Hall and management of elevator packing repairs through its existing Elevator Maintenance Provider. Liquidated damages are established at $350.00 per calendar day for failure to achieve Substantial Completion within the contract time. Grambling State University will provide reasonable accommodation for contractor storage at each project location and advance notification of campus events requiring coordination.
