QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

NETWORK CABLE INSTALLATION

WEST PALM BEACH, FL

REFERENCE #50000091138

INQUIRY 1

1. Section 3.1 of the SOW requests (1) 6 strand, MM fiber be installed from the 8th floor MDF to the 9th floor IDF. Section 3.2 also requests (1) 6 strand, MM fiber be installed from the 9th floor IDF to the 8th floor MDF. Is it just (1) 6 strand fiber segment that is required to connect the two closets?

IRS Response: The floor plans Identify 3 Telecom closets – 1 MDF and 2 IDFs – the SOW is correct. NO Segmenting of Fiber.

2. The description calls for wall mount fiber enclosures, but the material list calls for rack mount. Which do you prefer in each room?

IRS Response: Rack Mount. Statement of Work is updated to reflect this.

3. Core size for the MM fiber is not specified. Can we assume 50 micron fiber for this application?

IRS Response: Yes. Statement of Work is updated to reflect this.

4. Do you have an estimate of how long the fiber segment will be or can we assume the fiber will penetrate the 9th floor directly above the 8th floor MDF with the 4- Post racks in each closet approximately 4 ft off of the wall?

IRS Response: The floor plans identify the location of the closets.

Additionally, IRS is looking into seeing if floor plans with dimensions can be provided.

5. The 8th and 9th floor closets appear to be stacked per the drawings provided. Are there existing floor cores in place with room for the new fiber segment or is coring and sleeve required as part of our proposal?

IRS Response: Coring and sleeve are required by the network cable vendor.

6. Are the initial (23) Cat6 cables and the additional (41) Cat6 cable all being terminated in the Vendor provided 4-Post rack requested in Section 3.2, Phase II IDF or is there another 4-Post rack that will be reused in the CID IDF?

IRS Response: CID will reuse RACKS. The 23 CAT6 Cables require a new RACK provided by the network cable vendor.

7. There are fiber components listed in Section 3.2 and 3.3 of the SOW. Is there a fiber segment required between the 9th floor IDF and the CID IDF?

IRS Response: IRS requested clarification on question. Clarification from interested vendor follows:

I noticed in Phase 1 of the scope of work that there is (1) segment of 6 strand MM fiber requested between the MDF on the 8th floor and the IDF on the 9th floor.

Phase 2 asks for another segment of 6 strand MM fiber from the 9th floor to the 8th floor. Is this referring to the same previously mentioned segment from 8th floor?

Phase 2 for the CID IDF asks for a Cat6 for backbone between the CID IDF on the 9th floor to the 8th floor MDF, but there are fiber components lists with the parts.

It prompted me to ask if there is fiber being terminated in the CID IDF or if this could just be a cut and paste error in the SOW?

IRS Response: IRS will provide response when received from Program Office.
