About this file

This document is an Insurance Requirements form for the Installation of Emergency Lighting & Electrical Components on Vehicles project administered by Broward County's Medical Examiner and Trauma Services Division in Florida. The project involves installing emergency lighting and electrical components on two Ford Transit Vans—a 2017 Low Roof model and a 2020 Mid Roof model—for a local vendor. The solicitation requires vendors to submit responses electronically through BPRO by the specified closing date and time, with all submissions receiving a Submission Receipt. The County encourages vendors to submit all documentation, including optional items, to facilitate timely and comprehensive review. Vendors may submit questions and seek clarification during a designated timeframe through BPRO's Messages section.

The insurance requirements establish mandatory coverage minimums for General Liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate), Auto Liability ($500,000 combined bodily injury and property damage), Employer's Liability ($500,000 each accident), and excess/umbrella coverage as applicable. Broward County must be named as the Certificate Holder and additional insured on all liability policies except Professional Liability. The contractor's insurance shall provide primary coverage with no requirement for County contribution, and contractors are responsible for all coverage deductibles unless otherwise specified. The County requires 30 days' written notice of cancellation and 10 days' notice for non-payment, with Claims-Made policies requiring maintenance and evidence of insurance for at least three years after contract completion. Any self-insured retention exceeding specified amounts requires County approval and proof of financial ability.
