About this file

This is a Certificate of Insurance Guidance document issued by Klein Independent School District (KISD) in Texas for a Child Nutrition & Food Services Kitchen Equipment project at Epps Island Elementary. The document outlines submission requirements for prospective bidders regarding insurance documentation as part of the proposal process for the kitchen renovation and upgrade project.

Bidders are required to submit a Certificate of Insurance (COI) with their proposals, or alternatively, provide written documentation if they do not currently maintain insurance coverage. The District allows organizations to submit a statement indicating they lack current insurance coverage and commit to obtaining appropriate coverage upon contract award if required by KISD. The guidance provides sample language that vendors may use if insurance is not standard to their scope of work, such as professional development service providers, stating they will review the District's insurance requirements and work collaboratively to obtain necessary coverage following contract award.

Text version

Please upload your Certificate of Insurance (COI) if applicable. If you do not have one, please upload a document stating that you do not currently maintain a COI and will provide one upon contract award if required by the District.

If your organization does not have a Certificate of Insurance (COI), you may provide a statement indicating that you do not currently maintain insurance coverage and will obtain and provide a COI upon contract award, if required by the District. A statement similar to the one below will suffice.

As a provider of professional development services, we do not currently maintain insurance coverage, as it is not standard for our scope of work. We are willing to review the District’s insurance requirements and will work with KISD to obtain appropriate coverage upon contract award, if required.
