About this file

This is a Bid Bond form for the City of Palm Bay, Florida, required for a Canal Clearing (Re-Bid) construction project. The bond serves as a financial guarantee in lieu of a certified or cashier's check that would otherwise accompany the bid submission. The Principal (bidder) and Surety (bonding company) jointly and severally bind themselves to ensure that if the bid is accepted, the Principal will execute a contract within fifteen (15) days of notification and provide a sufficient Public Construction Bond payable to the City in an amount not less than the total contract price. The project involves removing vegetation from the flats and slopes of designated canals to maintain stabilized and accessible embankments, with all tree stumps to be treated with herbicide to prevent regrowth.

The bid bond amount is to be determined based on the approximate quantities shown in the bid submission. Should the Principal fail to comply with the contract requirements within the specified timeframe, the Surety agrees to pay the bond amount to the City as liquidated damages, not as a penalty. The Surety company must appear on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and must submit a financial statement as part of the contract documentation. The bond is executed by both the Principal and Surety and requires attestation signatures and dates to be valid.
