About this file
This document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the Biloxi Public School District in Mississippi for walk-in cooler and freezer equipment with construction components. The RFP seeks to procure three total units: a walk-in cooler/freezer combo for Popp's Ferry Elementary School, a walk-in cooler for Back Bay Elementary School, and a walk-in freezer for Back Bay Elementary School. All equipment must be THERMO-KOOL brand or pre-approved equivalent, with detailed specifications including panel construction, insulation, door features, and refrigeration systems. The proposal is due on May 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM CST, with a desired project completion date of June 2025. Vendors must attend a mandatory site visit prior to bidding and provide comprehensive installation services including demolition of existing equipment, electrical wiring, and startup of new units.
The RFP requires vendors to submit a comprehensive proposal with an all-inclusive pricing structure covering construction costs, shipping, installation, training, and technical support. Vendors must have a localized presence in Mississippi and be able to provide service through their own technicians. Additional requirements include providing an IRS W-9 form, compliance with the Mississippi Employment Protection Act, participation in the E-Verify program for new hires, and maintaining appropriate insurance. The Biloxi Public School District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and will award the contract to the lowest and best responsive bidder meeting the specifications. Funding for the project is contingent upon availability, and the district emphasizes that third-party refrigeration suppliers will not be accepted.
