ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS FOR THE TECHNICAL WRITER POSITION

1. The Solicitation summary states: "Knowledge of mining and MSHA safety requirements useful but not required." However your answer states that one writing sample must be on "general mining subjects." If knowledge of mining is not required in order to submit a proposal, then if a proposing writer has not written on general mining subjects, how are they to submit a sample on "general mining subjects."

Further, both the SOW and "Questions and Answers" document clearly state that "General Health and general safety topics are acceptable." Would that not mean that writing samples on "general health and safety" would be acceptable?

For example, I wrote an article examining FEMA's role in public safety, specifically evacuation planning in the event of a nuclear attack. It was an investigative article, identifying problems in FEMAs planning. But it is about general public safety. Wouldn't that be an acceptable sample?

We are interested in material relating to on-the-job and off the job safety. Something such as FEMA and nuclear attack would not be appropriate to what we are looking for. The requestor should go to the website and look at some back issues of the bulletin – that will give them an idea of what we need.

What is the exact file format for submitting bids (i.e. PDF, Word, etc.)?

You may submit your bid in either of the formats listed. I have no preference.

Can sample articles be sent via web links?

Articles should be attached to the email.

Is there a standard RFP document for this project? If so, where?

There is no standard RFP document for this project. All information should be included that was requested on the Federal Business Opportunity listing.

What is the order in which qualifying materials must be submitted (i.e. info about writer, company, experience)?

File details come from the government source that posted it. Updated .
