About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) document containing 19 questions and answers regarding an office suite remodel project at the Bismarck Federal Building for the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE). The work involves offices 365, 358, and 360, focusing on paint and carpet replacement, with specific attention to lead paint remediation.

Key details include: contractors must repair drywall after scraping loose lead paint (full abatement not required), provide their own dumpsters, move GSA furniture, and achieve Level 4 with orange peel finish on drywall. The scope includes painting heat registers white, removing and patching nail holes, and painting door frames up to thresholds. While GSA will provide a lead report and identify dumpster locations, contractor parking is not provided. Interior doors require painting only on the office side, not the hallway side. The existing baseboards are to be kept and repainted according to the Statement of Work. A tack board between offices 360 and 358 must be removed, and both sides of that door and trim must be painted.
