About this file
This document contains responses to contractor questions regarding Solicitation Number 47PE0722R0011 from the General Services Administration to correct water intrusion issues at the JL King Federal Justice Building in Miami. The key work includes removing all existing sealants, applying a water repellent to precast, granite and stucco surfaces, replacing sealants between precast and granite panels and around windows and curtain walls, replacing sealants at stucco and granite movement joints, and conducting water intrusion testing of the new sealant joints. Security and access requirements are outlined, with contractors and all personnel requiring badging and escorts while on site. Limited laydown space, parking and availability of water and power on site are also addressed. Commissioning, fall protection, and responsibility for testing requirements are specified. No basis of design is provided for glazing, roof anchors, sealants or water repellents. The contractor must provide a lump sum price according to the RFP requirements, with the proposal due date extended to April 14, 2022 per Amendment 0002.
